First off let me say that I suck at drawing hearts; always have been. So the idea of doing heart shapes gave me a bit of anxiety. I began with a base color of two coats of NYX Imagination. I then started drawing the heart outline with medium striping brush and LynBDesigns Quoth the Raven. I then filled in the hearts with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I have found through trial and error that using a white base helps colors pop more. Especially colors that tend to be sheer like pinks. I filled in the hearts with American Apparel Angeline, China Glaze Adventure Red-y and a no-name red glitter from The New Black Love Machine polish set. For the "stitches" I used a small striping brush and Quoth the Raven.
My heart shapes are still imperfect but I am happy with how these turned out. I love mixing pinks and reds together for Valentine's Day. My right hand did not get the red carpet treatment; I settled for a skittle using the same colors. What can I say? It was late and I was tired-lol!
