Abstract Nail Art with China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around, Budding Romance and Keep Calm Paint On

Hi all! I've been battling a wicked case of the "uninspireds" lately when it comes to nail art. I equate it with writer's block, which as a writer, I have also experienced. Like writing, the great thing about nail art is that anything can re-ignite the imagination. I found this amazing abstract image on Pinterest and realized that the colors match three of the colors I picked up from the China Glaze Avant Garden Collection.

I started by painting my nails with two coats of Dandy Lyin' Around. DLA is a gorgeous milky shimmery white crelly. It is a bit streaky on the first coat and is a bit thick but it evened out nicely on the second coat.  Once fully dry I used a nail art brush and painted on random strokes of
Budding Romance , Keep Calm, Paint On and Essence Back to Black. I wish KCPO had shown up a bit more on the nail, I debated going over the strokes again to make it more opaque but I didn't want the design to look bumpy.

The brush strokes didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them to but I still like the end result. I love abstract designs on nails because there isn't any right or wrong look. It's whatever it turns out to be.

If you like the look of Budding Romance don't forget to enter my giveaway. The lucky winner will receive the Avant Garden Blooming Brights Collection! The giveaway ends on March 8th.

  2. As for the question - I think it's important to be true to your self and show what YOU feel good about on your blog - not trying to please everyone else. It should be fun for you, and that reflects trough your posts :)
    It's a great giveaway - I hope to win :)
